Which IPMusk proxy to pick
- Long-lived accounts: Static ISP, one fixed IP per profile. The IP stays the same every day.
- Short tasks: sticky Rotating Residential (1, 3, 10 or 30 minutes on one IP).
- Scraping without logins: Rotating Residential. A new IP on every request will break logged-in sessions.
- Budget work: Datacenter is cheaper but is not residential or ISP.
What you need
- Octo Browser installed and signed in. The number of saved proxies depends on your subscription. Temporary proxies are unlimited on every tier.
- An IPMusk proxy line.
- Residential: dashboard → Residential → Connect (/app/residential/connect). Pick country, session type and protocol, then copy the line.
- Static ISP or Datacenter: dashboard → Static ISP → Proxies (/app/isp/proxies) or Datacenter → Proxies (/app/datacenter/proxies). Open a proxy to see its host, port, username and password.
- Use HTTP for Static ISP and Datacenter. Residential can use HTTP or SOCKS5.
Add a proxy to one profile
- 1Open the profile
Create a new profile, or edit an existing one, and find the Proxy / VPN field.
- 2Set a new proxy
Choose the option to set a new proxy. This creates a temporary proxy tied to that profile.
- 3Paste the line
Click the host field ("Enter IP or domain") and paste. Octo reads host:port:username:password, username:password@host:port, and the same with a protocol in front, such as http://PROXY_HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD or socks5://USERNAME:PASSWORD@PROXY_HOST:PORT. The fields fill in for you.
- 4Check the type
Make sure the protocol is HTTP for Static ISP and Datacenter, and the one you picked on the Connect page for residential.
- 5Press Check proxy
A green "Available" message with the country flag means it works.
- 6Save and start
Leave "URL for IP Change" empty. Save the profile and press Start.
Add many proxies at once
Octo Browser's help pages do not describe a bulk-import button for proxies, so do not expect a file upload.
- 1Save each proxy to the Proxy Manager
When adding a proxy, tick "Save to the Proxy Manager" and give it a clear name, like us-isp-01. After that you pick it from a list, with no retyping.
- 2Assign from the list
In each profile, select the saved proxy in the Proxy / VPN field. Keep one Static ISP proxy per profile.
- 3Manage in bulk
In the Proxy Manager, select many proxies to check or delete them together. The list shows status, country, IP and time zone.
- 4For large batches, use the API
Octo's automation API has a create-proxy call and lets you send a proxy with a profile. Map IPMusk's host, port, username and password to the matching fields, plus a type and a title.
Match the fingerprint to the proxy
- Languages, Timezone, Geolocation: leave the defaults. Octo reads the external IP when the profile starts and sets them to match. Do not set them to "real".
- WebRTC: keep "Based on IP" so it shows the proxy IP. "Disable UDP" is a stricter option if you see leaks.
- Do not share one Static ISP address across many profiles.
Check it works
- 1Start the profile
Octo checks the connection on launch. Wait for the window to open.
- 2Open an IP checker
The IP and country should match your IPMusk proxy.
- 3Compare time zone and language
They should fit the same country.
- 4Run a WebRTC test
It should show the proxy IP, not your own.
If it fails
- Auth error or 407: copy the username and password again from IPMusk and remove any spaces.
- Wrong protocol: a SOCKS5 line pasted as HTTP fails. Match the protocol to what you chose on the IPMusk Connect page. Static ISP and Datacenter use HTTP.
- Timeout or "Unavailable": Octo notes the checker can be blocked by your internet provider even when the proxy works. Try a phone hotspot.
- Geo mismatch: IP databases differ slightly. Check two or three sites, and confirm the country on the IPMusk Connect page.
- IPv6 host: write it in brackets, like [host]:port:username:password.
