Proxy checker

Check whether your proxies connect, how fast, and which IP and country they exit from.

A proxy checker tests whether a proxy accepts your connection and login. Paste up to 20 HTTP or SOCKS5 proxies; each is tested from Cloudflare's edge and shows whether it works, its latency, exit IP, country, and whether the exit is a datacenter or ISP network. Proxies and passwords are not stored.

Protocol

Up to 20 lines. Formats: host:port:user:pass or user:pass@host:port. A socks5:// or http:// prefix overrides the choice. 0 / 20 lines

We never store the proxies or passwords you test.

How it works

What this checker tells you

What we test

Each line is tested on its own. We open a connection to the proxy, complete the HTTP or SOCKS5 handshake with your username and password, and ask a public echo service which IP the request came from. The status says how far each line got.

Proxy statuses
StatusWhat it means
WorkingThe proxy connected and accepted the login. You see its exit IP and country.
FailedThe proxy refused the connection.
Auth failedThe proxy rejected the username or password.
TimeoutThe proxy did not answer within ten seconds.
BlockedCan't be tested from here: private and reserved addresses, port 25, and proxies on Cloudflare's own network. Not a failure.
InvalidThe line is not in a format we can read.
Couldn't verifyA problem on our side; it says nothing about your proxy.

Formats, HTTP and SOCKS5

Paste one proxy per line as host:port:user:pass or user:pass@host:port; host:port works for proxies without a login, and IPv6 addresses go in brackets. The HTTP / SOCKS5 choice applies to every line, but a socks5:// or http:// prefix on a line wins. Many providers, IPMusk included, give HTTP and SOCKS5 different connection settings, so check that the line matches the protocol you picked; our integration guides show where each setting goes.

Datacenter or ISP network

The IP type column says whether the exit IP is registered to a hosting company (Datacenter) or to an internet provider (ISP network). Sites that protect logins, payments and ad accounts often treat datacenter ranges as higher risk, so a datacenter exit is fine for scraping and monitoring but a common reason for extra checks on accounts. Home connections and Static ISP proxies share the same providers' networks, so no outside check can tell them apart. To see how your own connection looks, use the IP quality check.

FAQ

Questions about the proxy checker

Which proxy formats can I paste?

host:port:user:pass, user:pass@host:port, or host:port for proxies without a login. Each line may start with http://, socks5:// or socks5h://, and IPv6 addresses go in brackets, such as [2001:db8::1]:8080. Up to 20 lines per check.

Should I choose HTTP or SOCKS5?

Choose the protocol the proxy's port speaks. HTTP proxies work in browsers and most tools; SOCKS5 also carries other traffic and is common in antidetect browsers. If a proxy you know works shows Failed, try the other protocol: providers often use different settings for each.

Why is the latency different from what I see?

We measure from Cloudflare's edge location shown under the table, not from your computer. The figure is the time to connect and complete the handshake with the proxy. From your own location the route is different, so your latency can be higher or lower.

Do you keep my proxies or passwords?

No. Each line is sent once, tested, and the result shown back to you. We don't save the lines, write them to logs or keep them in your browser. We only count how many lines a network checks, to keep the tool free of abuse.
