Connect Tongyi Lingma to IPMusk

Add IPMusk on Tongyi Lingma's MCP page. Lingma's agent can then read your account and build proxy URLs while it codes.

Who this is for

Developers who use Tongyi Lingma (通义灵码), Alibaba's coding assistant plugin for VS Code and JetBrains IDEs.

What you need

  • An IPMusk account with a verified email address.
  • An IPMusk API key. Create it in Settings → API keys (/app/settings/api-keys). For typical use tick read and connect. Add support only if the assistant should open tickets, and order only if it should create orders that end in a payment link.
  • This client takes the key itself rather than reading the IPMUSK_API_KEY environment variable the other guides use. Keep the original in a password manager.
  • The Tongyi Lingma plugin, in a version with MCP support.
  • IPMusk applies the same source-country rules to the API and MCP as to the website, so connect from a region where ipmusk.com is available.

Set it up

  1. 1
    Open MCP services

    In the Lingma panel, open the MCP 服务 (MCP services) page, choose + and add a server manually.

  2. 2
    Fill in the server

    Set the name to ipmusk, the type to Streamable HTTP and the URL to https://ipmusk.com/mcp.

  3. 3
    Add the key

    Open the advanced settings and add a header. Set the key to Authorization and the value to Bearer followed by a space and your key. Save.

Server
Name: ipmusk
Type: Streamable HTTP
URL: https://ipmusk.com/mcp
Header: Authorization = Bearer ipm_live_YOUR_KEY

Menu names change between plugin versions. If a step does not match, check Tongyi Lingma's current documentation.

JetBrains: JSON config

Some JetBrains plugin versions open a JSON file instead of a form. This shape is not confirmed for every version, so check Tongyi Lingma's current documentation if it is rejected.

MCP config (JSON)
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ipmusk": {
      "url": "https://ipmusk.com/mcp",
      "requestOptions": {
        "headers": {
          "Authorization": "Bearer ipm_live_YOUR_KEY"
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

No header field: use a bridge

If your plugin version has no place for headers, run IPMusk through mcp-remote, a small bridge that turns a remote server into a local one. Add it as a local (stdio) server with this command. It needs Node.js 18 or later.

  • On Windows, some clients split arguments at spaces. If the header arrives broken, see mcp-remote's README for its workaround.
Command
npx mcp-remote https://ipmusk.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ipm_live_YOUR_KEY"

Check it works

Open the MCP 服务 page. ipmusk should show as connected with its tools. Use it from Lingma's agent mode.

Ask the assistant: Which IPMusk account am I connected as? It should call get_account and answer with your email address.

Try these prompts

  • How much IPMusk residential traffic do I have left?
  • Get a sticky US proxy URL for 10 minutes and use it in this script.
  • List my IPMusk Static ISP proxies and when they expire.

If it fails

  • 401 authentication_required: the header is missing or the key is wrong. Check the value starts with Bearer and a space.
  • The server fails to connect: check the type is Streamable HTTP, not SSE, and the URL is exactly https://ipmusk.com/mcp.
  • The bridge does not start: install Node.js 18 or later so npx works.
  • 403 forbidden on one tool: the key lacks that tool's scope, or your email is not verified. Scopes cannot be added to a key, so create a new key with the scope and swap it in.
  • 429 rate_limited: too many calls in one minute (read 60, connect 20, support 30, order 10). Wait a minute and try again.

Remove access

  • Revoke the key in Settings → API keys (/app/settings/api-keys). It stops working at once.
  • Then delete the ipmusk server on the MCP 服务 page.
