Connect ChatGPT to IPMusk

Two routes: a Developer mode connector that signs in with OAuth, or a Custom GPT whose Actions call the IPMusk API with a key.

Who this is for

ChatGPT users who want ChatGPT to read their IPMusk account and build proxy URLs.

Builders who want a Custom GPT that works with IPMusk.

What you need

  • An IPMusk account with a verified email address.
  • For the connector: a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan with Developer mode available. On workspace plans an admin may need to allow it.
  • For a Custom GPT: an IPMusk API key with read and connect. Add support or order only if the GPT should open tickets or create orders.

Set it up: Developer mode connector

  • Developer mode is required. Without it ChatGPT only uses search and fetch tools, and IPMusk does not provide those.
  • Menu names change between ChatGPT releases. If a step does not match, check OpenAI's current help pages for Developer mode.
  1. 1
    Turn on Developer mode

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.

  2. 2
    Create the connector

Choose Create. Set the name to IPMusk, the URL to https://ipmusk.com/mcp and authentication to OAuth. Choose Create.

  3. 3
    Sign in and approve

Sign in to IPMusk in the window that opens. Tick read and connect for typical use, then choose Approve.

Set it up: Custom GPT Actions

  1. 1
    Create a GPT

In ChatGPT, open Explore GPTs → Create → Configure, then choose Create new action.

  2. 2
    Import the schema

Choose Import from URL and paste the OpenAPI URL below.

  3. 3
    Add your key

Under Authentication choose API Key, set Auth type to Bearer and paste your IPMusk key. Save.

OpenAPI URL
https://ipmusk.com/api/v1/openapi.json

Everyone who uses the GPT acts with your key. Keep the GPT private, or give it a key with only the scopes you are happy to share.

Check it works

Connector: start a new chat, choose Developer mode from the tools menu and enable IPMusk. Then ask: Which IPMusk account am I connected as?

Custom GPT: in the action editor choose Test next to the me_get action, or ask the GPT the same question.

Try these prompts

  • How much residential traffic do I have left on IPMusk?
  • Give me a rotating residential proxy URL for Germany.
  • List my Static ISP proxies and when they expire.

If it fails

  • IPMusk does not appear as a tool: Developer mode is off, or the connector is not enabled in this chat.
  • Sign-in fails or loops: delete the connector and create it again with authentication set to OAuth.
  • 403 forbidden on one tool: you did not grant that permission. Disconnect the app in Settings → API keys → Connected AI apps, connect again and tick the permission.
  • Custom GPT returns 401: the key in Authentication is wrong or revoked, or Auth type is not Bearer.
  • 403 capability_unavailable: the customer API is switched off on this deployment. Contact support.

Remove access

  • Go to Settings → API keys → Connected AI apps (/app/settings/api-keys) and choose Disconnect next to the app. It stops working at once.
  • Then delete the connector in ChatGPT under Settings → Apps & Connectors.
  • For a Custom GPT, revoke its key in Settings → API keys and remove the action.
